On the last day of renting the car, 4 hours before I returned it, I saw the scratches on the mirror and the plastic part above the wheel, both on the same side of the car and I concluded that it was probably done by some random car that drove there in the parking lot and scratched my rental car.
I submitted a claim for €414.12.
Very smooth process, of course it requires emailing set of documents, but this is how it works. I've been using this service since 2022. After years of having this 3rd party rental car insurance I had a first chance to actually use it. And it worked very well.

I had a small accident to our Renault Clio rental car in Pompeii on Saturday 3 May. The result was scratches to the right wing mirror cover/cap - the damage is cosmetic and the wing mirror still works well.
The car rental ends on 31 May, so I advised CarInsuRent about this.
They were very helpful and advised that the cost of Renault Clio wing mirror is less than EUR 100, and if we add the labor costs, the total repair should not exceed EUR 300 (it might be that they only need to replace the case, and it is much cheaper).
We returned the car on 31.5.25. Sixt car rental advised they wouldn't repair the damage but nevertheless charged 337.50 euros.

I rented a car in UK London from Alamo
Alamo has issued me a return damage summary that is that the tyre has scratches in them. I did not do any damages to the car that I left in mint condition.
I have recorded the card video while picking it up and also while dropping it off and it is really visible that the tyre had damages before hand. The person who gave me the car at gatwick airport told me that you don't have to worry about the damages on the tyre and the rim as it has already so many scratches. These were the words from the person giving me the car.
I submitted the claim to CarInsuRent. They noted that in the damage summary provided by the rental company there are two damages reported by them of two tires one tire was damaged before. They advised how to deal with the pre-existing damage and approved the claim for the new damage. I received GBP 405 for my claim.
